Cover #84. blink-182 released a new single just last week, and as they're what made me want to focus on music in life I thought it'd only be fair if I support them back by covering and spreading the word of the new upcoming album. Want to learn how to play it? Read below!

As always, Travis Barker's playing some really cool stuff on this track. For the most part it's pretty straight forward, but the ending definitely had me sit down and listen carefully. A bunch of six-stroke rolls, groupings of 5's accenting the 1+3, diddles and doubles. Tricky stuff, but I decided to transcribe it all for you guys, in case you'd like to learn it - or perhaps just check out what's actually being played!

There are a few things that I ended up playing differently. I'm flaming the accents in the bridges while I believe Travis might not be doing so. In the first verse the snare's being played with an accent on the 2, then the following note on the 'a of 2' is half-accented, while I played it as a ghost note. Lastly, I ended up adding a third snare drum accent in the 3rd chorus where it switches to the double accents.

Incredibly fun to do this cover. I'm sure I'll be covering something else off the album once it's released, July 1st. If you have any questions, never hesitate to leave them below!
