I've always noticed that on TV performances, he is spot on. I also heard whispers he drinks before a lot of shows due to nerves. However, I saw him with AVA last year and then with blink two months later and again, he was bang on. Not a bad note both nights. I think he just fails in terms of consistency. It also can depend on what you eat, how much sleep you get etc. Most people just go nuts for the fact he's in the same room as them. When Tom walks on stage, fans just rush forward.
