im 17 years old i grew up to theseguys and in my opinon they are one of the best im about to get the blind melon sun on my cheat as my first tattoo. not alot of people my age know them but shannon hoon was my idol growing up. noone can make me feelthe way blind melon does!!!!

To everyone commenting. You guys all realize family members/Shannon's friends read this, right? Just want to make sure, we didn't die too. Lay off the heroin and negative crap. He spent the last three hrs of his life on the phone with a psychic then went back to the tour bus with a $30 of blow….that's not enough to kill yourself…let his memory live w/o drugs please. He took his life and drugs have squat to do with it in the end. Miss you and love you, Shan.

I remember when my girlfriend at the time told me of his death. I said what a shame, I saw them at Woodstock 94 and they were great. The thing I remember very clear was that during the song "no rain" it started raining................and didn't stop all day.

*Deep(ish) Cuts - **Tones of Home** by Blind Melon**No Rain* may have been the track that propelled Blind Melon into prominence in 1992, thanks in part to the iconic "Bee Girl" in the music video. But *Tones of Home*, the album's first single, is arguably the better track. After the success of *No Rain*, the *Tones of Home* video was reworked to continue the story line of the Bee Girl, many years later, receiving a package from her younger self. I'm choosing this as my first in a series of songs that live in the shadow of the singles that made bands or albums famous. If you like this one, I suggest you give the rest of the album a listen. Although it was a great song, *No Rain*, like the Bee Girl in the video, never did quite fit in with the rest.
