I'm not really familiar with scissorbeats, maybe I just use a different term....what is that exactly?

Story Allegory

man. i'd kill for some lessons. i play in a powerviolence band in PEI, but i can't seem to get my blasts there, more like fast scissorbeats. how different is it in terms of technique?

Both problems are related. The faster you try to go beyond what you're used to, the more you'll tense up. Start off at low speeds and gradually build your way up. The best way to do it is to set a metronome to a speed you're comfortable playing at. Gradually increase the BPM by 5 or 10 until it feels just out of range. Keep it there until it becomes comfortable, then increase it again. If you do this regularly you should notice results quickly.

I just got into doing blast beats, and I find it considerably hard, my biggest problem is that I tense up really easy, and another problem is a lot of the time I can't get as fast as I'd like to :/

@MyTamas1 how much hours per day did you practice?

Jordan Perry

@Incisedband It can be good to start one foot at a time, but you want to make sure you're spreading the practice evenly across both limbs or you're going to have one that is considerably weaker than the other. Pretty cool stuff you have posted. It's hard to hear completely because of the sound quality, but your drumming sounds tight!
