Only just ran into this band myself, as recommended to fans of Eluveitie and I keep seeing "folk" being mentioned, both on the wikipedia page and sputnikmusic so I'm guessing there must be some folk elements at least in some of their songs.. Maybe earlier albums?

I can't hear any folk instruments, only synths. Are the rest of Blackguard's songs folk metal? This sounds more like melodeath or blackened power metal to me :S
