If this song were a civilian, then Martin and Iommi would be complicit in a war crime. It is this simple. Iommi's solo versions (with/without Geeze) of Sabbath barely toured in the States because there was no demand to see "Sabbath" (in quotes intentionally) and, thus, no money in it. When they did play in the states, they played clubs and small theaters and not without another heavy hitter (e.g., Motorhead) on the bill with them. Ozzy and Dio were selling out large arenas during the same period. Ozzy and Dio would go gold and platinum with States-side sales while "Sabbath" was selling probably 10,000 and rapidly going out of print. Metal fans exercise good judgement, knowing the difference between sh*t and shinola. I was there. No one cared about late '80s and '90s "Sabbath." Megadeth, Metallica, Ozzy, Duo, Anthrax, Priest, Maiden ruled. "Sabbath" couldn't even open for those bands. Iommi is a legend, but he came perilously close to permanently damaging his legend by playing in the minor leagues so long. Good solo-Iommi comes from the projects with his name in the group's title. Tony Martin is one of thousands who blends into the woodwork of competent vocalists. He comes nowhere near the pantheonic, pioneering stature of Ozzy and Dio. He was a man looking for work and found it. I give him credit for that but that's it.

This is so horrible. but at least now I have something to put me to sleep when I suffer from insomnia. Only Ozzy can make this song sound dark and real and interesting.

Fuck tony martin. Throughout his career he was trying to be the next Ronnie James Dio. He's horrible. Dio was the best singer Sabbath ever had. Dio's career was longer than most. Over fifty years. He was a genious at writing songs. Martin? Hell no. When he was writing songs, martin was probably thinking "how would Dio write this" Bring Tony Martin Black Sabbath to America and see how well he does compared to Dio in any form. (Rainbow, Solo, Black Sabbath, and Heaven and Hell) Horrible wannabe.

Ozzy's farewell show was in '92, in '91, Dio left the band for a few weaks, and they called back Martin.

at 0:48 you say "Dio was having a childish and (starish I assume, because starlish isn't even a fake word) at(t)ack", do your research, they wanted Dio to play with Black Sabbath and open for Ozzy, who had publicly bashed him and his band mates, as he says in his 30 years of Heaven and Hell interview so he refused to open for Ozzy, that ruined the whole video for me

Dio hadn't have any attack, hir qiut is not the 1992 ozzfest. It was due to his contract with Sabbath finished, that;s all. He blessed Halford to replace him on the Ozzfest.

@JaydeeOldBoy You're absolutely right! Dio singing (over-singing?) War pigs and Iron Man is absolutely dreadful! Kinda like Steve Perry if he were trying to sing Neil Young songs, Please check out our Sabbath tribute band website sabbathonlysabbath. com. We are seriously the best Sabbath tribute band out there...there are numerous songs posted in the sounds section, unfortunately our version of Changes won't play on the player for some reason...but our singer nails OZZY, looks and sounds!

I've got a couple versions of Tony singing changes and they aren't very good... like this one. Ozzys very unconvensional vocal sytle, tone and richness is unique, and a very important aspect of Black Sabbath. I've never heard any singer pull off an Ozzy. The standard convenstional singer like Tony, or operatic singer like Dio, just make a mess of all Ozzy songs, and they lose half thier of appeal. The only reason i can even listen to Dio or Tony sing ozzy songs is because Iommi is playing them.

Little known fact: Tony is the first Black Sabbath singer to play this live.

Of course the Ozzy version is better, but this isn't a bad job. Martin's era in the band is criminally underrated.

I love Tony Martin's era, all the line ups. This is a gem. Beautiful. Thank you for posting. Sabbath is a thing of Tonys, both Martin and Iommi!
