I totally agree Resident, too bad he didn't have another four to six 4x12 cabs and at least that many 2x15 cabs (driven by dedicated amps) plus a nice new set of Rotosound roundwounds instead of the flat wounds which were typical at that time.

yeah Resident -there is a ratio with any band -basically amount of albums versus total good songs, in this regards Black Sabbath gets a low score however when you take into account how Black Sabbaths first two albums were unrelated musically and tonally to anything previously heard that relatively small amount of music becomes very special. Most bands hit their stride years into their career while Sabbath came out with their best recordings and material in 69' & 70' -their first two albums.

im a big sabbath fan, but page is the technicly better guitarist, and iommi doesn't try to sell himself as the greatest guitarits, he is up there with slash and angus young but not page, hendrix, and van halen

Great points. As far as having the right 4 guys in each band to make great music, they are two of the best bands ever! I think Jones and Bonham made Page's sloppy style acceptable. Iommi was usually spot on live, was much cleaner, and is the better live guitarist by a long shot too.
