I think, first, this is quite a slow and simple Sabbath song to use a pick. And, second, in this video, you do not use the pick's speed advantage to demonstrate that your choice costs it.

Maybe it's because they're 1/3 of a 3-instrument lineup, but with bands like Rush and Black Sabbath, you REALLY see the bass line shine.  Obviously Butler and Lee are great bassists......but it's like their tracks are MADE to have the audience notice the thumping bass.  With songs like "Lonely is the Word", the bass is about as enjoyable as the guitar riffing.  Contrarily, there was a period of time when you couldn't even HEAR the bass in Metallica.
