Actually, most of this band is FROM the Decemberists. It's their side project.

Saw them in Brooklyn last night. If you get the chance to see them live don't let it pass.

Let's go through the hipster band checklist! Blank, slightly-confused-to-be-here expression on all faces (try not to show that you enjoy making music at all): check Subtle, quaint sound effect use and/or old-timey microphone: check on both Stand-up bass: naturally No pants on the ladies (sundresses only!): check Little-girl hairstyle w/ bangs: obviously Borrows the accordion player with the unfortunate face from The Decemberists: check I think we have a hipster band on our hands.

I just saw them a couple weeks ago at "Front Porch Music" in Valporaiso, Indiana... And they are FANTASTIC live. In fact, I'd go so far as to say they sound unbelievably better live than on the album. (Annalisa double-checked to be sure my shirt selection from the band's fit well just after the show.. Now I'm kicking myself for not having the band sign the shirt!!)
