Well, those who didn't live in those days missed quite a few other things; Vietnam, the civil rights struggles, Jim Crow laws, the cold war, etc. However, they still have the music, and the first time you hear it, it's new... same could be said for Benny Goodman, Neil Diamond, Peter, Paul & Mary, The Seekers... this list goes on. Just yesterday I happened to hear this song on the radio. It was kind of strange. I got into my '98 Lincoln Continental (so I'm already twenty years back in time), turned on the radio to hear an announcer who sounded vaguely familiar telling me about a song that had just come out two weeks earlier. That soneg was by Aretha Franklin. I wondered that Aretha was still recording new stuff. Then came Jungle Fever and Rock & Roll Lullaby. At last somebody told me that it was a recording of Casey Kasem's Top 40 from 1972. I was a bit relieved at not having travel;led through a wormhole. Good times the 70's.
