I loved House because he said and did what I thought, but didn't have the courage to follow through with, but as my own personal journey unfolds House constantly reminds me of my own greatness inside. With all greatness there are those who watch on the sidelines at our lives critiquing, judging, and constantly screaming out with loud voices; Your going too far or your out of your league; Come back and sit on the sidelines with us! I say to all of them! No... No... No... I don't know one ship; one boat; one raft that was built to rest on the harbor. Life is an adventure meant to brave the waves, push through to survive hurricanes, make wrong turns only to discover that unexplored island, but mostly to look at that super wave in front of you; knowing in your mind it's bigger than you; but with a smile you try and ride it any way. As a result, whether your courage ends in victory or loss, you unknowingly inspire others to go where they have never gone before. To all who read this don't become what people say you should be. As hard as you try to fit into other peoples molds; it will never be enough. We should constantly grow from one another, but we are individuals created in our own uniqueness. We have our own personal journey. I am 40 and although exterior circumstances in the past 5 years brought out qualities in me that at first I fought with, I for the first time in my life feel free. House although a character/doctor is not the theme of this Television Show. The theme is no matter how successful you are, no matter how gifted; we are human, but mostly we just want to be loved at our best and our worst as a person. Their is this myth that successful people have a responsibility to be perfect and make no mistakes. I laugh because if you walked a mile in their shoes you would see that they need the most love of all. Not because of who they are, but because of the lonely hours that they endure. I challenge you to look at someone who you hold upon a pedestal and ask them a simple question "How are you doing today?" Don't accept the response "I'm good, I have money, I have success, I have prestige". Respond back with "When was the last time you did something just for You?" You'd be surprised of what this conversation will transform into when someone sincerely knows you care just about them. The characters that surrounded House ie. Wilson, Kutty etc. not only needed House, but in all of his madness he needed them. No one character was more important. We all are intertwined somehow. Playing our part just like Steel sharpens iron and water corroding rock.
