On this day in 1944 {December 23rd} "Don't Fence Me In" by Bing Crosby and the Andrew Sisters peaked at #1 {for 8 weeks} on Billboard's Best Sellers Retail chart...After eight weeks at #1 it was replaced by "Rum and Coca-Cola" by the same Andrew Sisters {and it also remained at #1 for 8 weeks}...In 1944 Bing Crosby had three other songs that reached #1 {"I Love You" for 2 weeks, "I'll Be Seeing You" for 3 weeks, and "Swinging On A Star" for 9 weeks; so for the year of 1944 Mr. Crosby was at #1 for a total of 16 weeks}...Related Videos
