When it comes to 9/11, I lean more towards "they knew about it and allowed it to happen" than "Bush knocked down the towers (with controlled demolition)" or w/e. Two reasons, 1. It would me MUCH easier for them to pull over, controlled demolition would be a lot harder to accomplish. It is therefore consistent with Occkam's Razor. 2. It's more in keeping with my understanding of the empire operates. I.E. They prefer not to get their hands dirty if other people will do what they want for them. According to John Perkins, who was a self-described "economic hit man", the government prefers to use the least direct and least incriminating approach that accomplishes their goals. They will try to convince a third world nation to become enslaved by debt to USAID or the World Bank, so they will be forced to buy American imports and surrender their national resources. This is the preferred approach. But if this fails, the government will send in CIA jackals to foment unrest/military coups/assassinations/etc. If this fails, they send in the military.
