The BEST Rock and Roller Australia has ever produced! HE HATED PLAYING THIS SONG! Was fortunate enough to have bounced at a few of his Gigs and got to know him pretty well! Really top guy and Sorely missed, Boy he loved a beer!

Peter Evans continues: The young cameraman on stage with the Ampex shoulder held camera is "Lucky Phil" Lambert of "Hey Hey it's Saturday" fame. Direction was by Peter Faiman and sound by Colin Steavenson, lighting by myself.

According to Peter Evans who did the lighting for this show: Not the Music Bowl, it's Sunbury 1973 from GTV9's coverage of that year (look at the opening shots, and note the Optronics amplifiers in the backline). This was not included in the one hour special which was compiled later on and the master tapes recorded over, so I'm wondering where the footage came from.

What a night that was. Couldnt see the bands I was so far back. Remember the La De Das came on and played All along the watchtower, and it sounded like hendrix was on stage

Yeah he was SO into what he was doing on many levels it SHONE out of his eyes! !st time I saw him was @Sydney Town Hall in 1972. That event had a HUGE impact on my forming world view. Cause of the platts I call the town hall concerts "The stoned viking concerts",lol :)

Billy Thorpe sang R&R from about 12 years old to around 55 year old; then died of a heart attack. He was the greatest.
