All BIlly's albums are pure class!! But for me, Turnstiles is the best! The Stranger and Class Houses a very very close second!

IIIII'VE LOVED THEEEESE DAYYYS...My Mother used to play this song all the time when I was just a kiddie. The sound of her singing along to it has been burned into my memory forever.

this album just needed better production......Among the top 5 albums of his career......his voice was just about there with this album, the songwriting had come full circle and this marked the beginning of his classic period 1976-1982.

In our small town lots of us felt like this was his best album, as in song after song great. I'm way far from saying his others weren't good, but this one had that way something special thing about it; that unique vibe (probably not the right word, but hard to come up with a word that adiquately works) that folks when they attempt the art of writing & recording music hope they can capture that "thing" even in just one song. This is a whole album of it; like it is its own entity or something. MHO

Funny, this was photographed at the Astor Place subway station. I wonder why Billy remembers it as being abandoned, it is still open.
