it is because he didnt sing in his comfy zone, he sung the song the way it was written by franscis scott key over 200 years ago, the man knows his melody he was keeping true to the song and not trying to make it his own, he is one of the few that has done the nat anthem more than once at a super bowl.

Not his greatest performance, but still it´s all about soul, of which he´s got plenty. This is far much better than some screaming bird who is able to sing as many octaves as human possible and scates up and down them like some kind of a vocal rollercoaster. Yes, I might be thinking about vocalists like Maria Carey, Beyonce, etc. This man with a capital M is able to sing from the heart.

Thank you for the sentiment. Though the eagle may not have been as random as you first thought. It appears that the man that the eagle "randomly" flew to and was caught by had an obviously pre-prepared bird catching glove on.
