Shameless"Well I'm shameless when it comes to loving youI'd do anything you want me toI'd do anything at allAnd I'm standing here for all the world to seeThere ain't that much left of meThat has very far to fallYou know I'm not a man who has ever beenInsecure about the world I've been living inI don't break easy, I have my prideBut if you need to be satisfiedI'm shameless, baby I don't have a prayerAnytime I see you standing thereI go down upon my kneesAnd I'm changing, I swore I'd never compromiseBut you convinced me otherwiseI'll do anything you pleaseYou see in all my life I've never foundWhat I couldn't resist, what I couldn't turn downI could walk away from anyone I ever knewBut I can't walk away from youI have never let anything have this much control over meCause I worked too hard to call me life my ownYes I made myself a world and it worked so perfectlyBut it's your world now, I can't refuseI never had so much to loseI'm shameless...shamelessYou know it should be easy for a man who's strongTo say he's sorry or admit when he's wrongI've never lost anything I ever missedBut I've never been in love like this...It's out of my handsI'm shameless, I don't have the power nowBut I don't want it anyhowSo I've got to let it goI'm shameless, shameless as a man can beYou can make a total fool of meI just wanted you to knowI am shamelessShameless...Shameless...

Heard an interview with Garth the other night and he is a huge fan of Billy, a lot of influence is in his music. I didn't even realize this was originally a Billy song till I saw the performance at the Library of Congress, they're both great!

Just saw this on Gershwin Awards. Twila Tharp did a dance number to it, but it was sung impeccably. I will teach myself to sing this tomorrow. So glad I grew up on LI next to Billy, and just as glad I moved out. He is an American Classic.

Actually Billy Joel wrote this song. So he not only sings it, he wrote the song. Every time Garth sings the song he has to give $$ to Billy Joel.

I had never heard this song before purchasing the Stormfront CD in 1991. Was blown away at first listen. Then, about a year later, I was getting into Garth Brooks because of his amazing live performance of "Rodeo" on SNL, and so I bought the Ropin' The Wind CD. Saw "Shameless" on it, and I was like, Can this be?? Sure enough, it was, and his version blew me away as well. In short, Thank Garth for giving this song the recognition it always deserved. Both versions are amazing. Quit arguing over which one is better. Love 'em both. :-)

Billy Joel is sooo phucking talented but this song was not born until Garth Brooks sang it...it still sends shivers down my spine when I hear Garth sing it. Don't feel bad, Billy, Willie wrote "Crazy" but it wasn't born until it came out of Patsy's lips.

If you've ever been in love- the piano man right out of Julliard School of Music in NY, has nailed it..and lending it to Garth was the best he could have done..Garth blows it away! What a pair!!

If a man sang this song to me with all the feeling that Billy Joel puts into it; I'd leave my husband for him! Love this song!

Love Billy Joel, but I never heard this song until Garth did it. I never even really listened to country before Garth, but as I look back on it and compare him to older country artists... by the time he recorded Ropin' the Wind he wasn't even country anymore :-)
