In 1986, the day "The Bridge" album was released, I went to Strawberries record store and purchased it. I then headed to my friend's house, who had a high end stereo system. I put the record on the turntable and the first song to play was "running On Ice." I was immediate blown away. I loved the style of that song; cool lyrics and awesome drive. I told everybody that that was going to be the next single. To this day, I can't understand why it was not released. I thought it was at least a top ten hit. That year I went to the Worcester Centrum 3 times to see Billy Joel sing. I thought for sure he was going to open with "Running On Ice" but he opened with "Matter Of Trust" instead. Somewhere along the way, I thought he was going to play it live but he never did. I've seen Billy Joel 8 times live in my life and not once has he played that song. I then stared to think that "Running On Ice" was too fast for him to play live. I now see that it wasn't. I am so happy to finally hear it live. I still love it like the day I first heard it. I still can't understand why Columbia didn't release it as a single. Remaster it and release it now.

I can't read that fast never mind sing that fast. Great version. I recon billy will keep it although I would like to see more deep cuts.Billy wrote hundreds of songs and the set list can be quite predictable nowadays.

this was really good, only the first chorus was not completely good sung but that doesn't matter at all , I mean its Billy Joel!! I hope they keep it on the set-list!
