I like this song a lot, but not as much as I used to... I understand it a lot better now. Does anyone else think that he sounds like the Beatles in this song???

I don't own this song, the album "The Nylon Curtain", or the photo used.

Laura is without doubt one of the best tracks on the Nylon Curtain album! And it's also Billy's favourite of his own work. Billy admits himself that it's very Beatles sounding!!

It is completely "beatlesque", in fact, i think it is on purpose

he sounds more like ELO. i think Jeff Lynne could have easily written this song. which is nothing to sneeze at. if i could write like Lynne or any one of the Beatles i wouldn't be complaining :))also sounds like "I'm So Tired" as someone else has mentioned below...

Not to mention the very Ringo-esque drumming.

This song was the b-side to his hit song "Pressure" I use to listen to it more than "Pressure" it was just that good in my opinion

I listened to a lot of Billy as a kid before I'd really gotten into the Beatles, then revisited all my BJ albums a couple of years ago and couldn't believe how Beatley this was. Could have been lifted from the white album. I even think it has a bit of a Jeff Lynne feel to it even though this was released years before Lynne started working as a producer for Harrison and later the Beatles Anthology/Free As A Bird stuff. The lead guitar is classic Harrison, the harmony backing vox could be off any album post-Rubber Soul and though the 6/8 piano behind the 4/4 drum beat doesn't have a direct Beatle inspiration (or does it... anyone?), it just feels like something they would have done.

Yes, I thought too. I thought it like Beatles song of "Lucy in the sky with Diamond". How do others think of it?
