short story about this album; i was 16 and got beaten up by some thugs walking home from school. they kicked my head in and i had to have brain surgery and was on life support. when i came off and was convalescing in the hospital, my mom would buy me whatever album i wanted for my sony discman. this was one of those albums. i listened to this shit around the clock while thinking about the nurses. great album.

This is a gem, sometimes I wish I could go back and pick the singles. The mainstream had already moved on into the cookie cutter realm at this point, music sales began to slump, and those that did not listen to mainstream music sort of fell into the hipster pitchfork category, and gems like this got lost in the shuffle, along with a lot of other great music that went unnoticed.

What exactly do you mean by "way ahead of its time"? I like the song. I like Billy Corgan. That seems like nonsense though. He made it when he made it. It's not like if the album came out now that it would be any more popular, or even that popularity is that important. I got this album when it first came out and liked it. I still like it. That has nothing to do with being "way ahead of it's time."

has anyone noticed rock took like its last fighting chance on the 04-06 range such as billy corgan trying to add a pop twist or green day with american diot or rage against the machine with renegades. it was like they just put somthing out there as a sacrafice for rock and it either worked or didnt but its to late now most rock is dead and pop is here to stay for a while:(

I'm no smashing pumpkins fan, I barely get on with the rest of Corgan's album, but this song is brilliant in so many different ways

This is probably one of my favorite songs from the mind of Billy Corgan, even topping many of the Pumpkins' songs. liamvg is right, this was way ahead of its time; definitely under appreciated when it was first released in 2005. Overall it feels very much like Thom Yorke's solo album does and I love them both.
