Bill Bruford performing "Footloose and Fancy Free" live at his Drum Clinic at Mohawk College, November 14, 2006 in Hamilton, ON. Best video quality I've seen so far from this clinic, but I should have brought a tripod :-(.

My favorite is his drumming on the studio version of Yes' version of Paul Simon's "America."

What was he supposed to do kiss your feet for buying a $20 DVD? Nice cheap shot about smiling at your fiancée, sheesh, there's no pleasing some people.

@TheLittlehoney1 wow. sounds like YOU were the one with the attitude problem, not BB. if he signed two items for you, i think that is extraordinarily gracious, considering that many celebrities shun personal contact with the public altogether. and how many of his peers give performance clinics to share their knowledge? not many, ill bet. and what was the need to have more than two items signed - were you selling these things on ebay?

I got cut off. I was saying he is an awesome player, but let' s not forget it' s the fans who put you where you are. A true example of separating the person from the player.

I went to this clinic at Sam Ash in King of Prussia, Pa and like all of you I was blown away. I have to say that he is full of himself, which I found Surprising when he was smiling at my fiancée and I the whole time. Anyway, when I went to get an autograph I ended up by his DVD, and I wanted him to sign a Yes book he said he could not sign everything. Everything was 2 items. After I shelled out $20. 00 for his DVD! Aren't t his fans worth signing something for? We put him where he is. He also

I'm not a drummer, but it looks like Bruford has so much left hand control that he can practically do a full drumroll with just the one hand.

Excellent perception and description of his playing. Both Bozzio and Gadd are dynamoes in their own rights, but Bruford's simplicity is what puts him on top of them all...

Feeling he had a weak left hand, it's a semi-rim shot he developed in the 60s to help his snare cut through all of the amplified instrumentation. Early Yes producer Eddie Offord was one of the first to really crank up the treble on the bass guitar and really "bass-up" the sound. Bruford's "trademark" snare sound was developed to help him compete with some of that.
