Bruford. The master at work

The thing about Bruford, to me, is that he's so musical. I'm a drummer, it's what I love to do and I think about drumming and music almost all the time. I can watch and listen to a lot of great technical drummers on YouTube or whatever and admire their skill and all, but Bruford is just a lot more all-around musical than most, whether he's playing with electronics mixed in or all-acoustic.

Music is certainly not a competition, but Bill Bruford was certainly one of the best time-keeper that ever lived.  A drummer's drummer.  And beyond.

3 mins of cacophony is enough for me... Sorry for all his fans(if he has), but I can do the same stupid sounds with drums(and with a lot of other things).I gone here from the link with incredible praise to see something amazing, so I very disappointed.

I watched this, and then went to watch Neil Peart dinking around on the David Letterman solo he played a while back. The embarrassment I feel for Neil is pretty much a perfect example of ~fremdschamen~.

A lot of jivin' by Bruford. Thankfully, he gave up these toys.

I love all the great Prog Rock drummers, however if you like this you may like Bill Stewart. He's a jazz drummer with an amazing melodic sense. Check him out with John Scofield. He to me is very advanced in his concepts.
