This is a song about the flooding of the Ohio River. You can hear it in the first verse, "it was the Ohio River, telling us to get ready and go". It begs the question: Why is this called "Southern" Flood Blues, if the Ohio is located in the north? That's why most people hear "ol' high" River instead of "Ohio". Yet Bill says he starts fleeing from the flood while in Cincinatti in "Terrible Flood Blues", the same tune, with some different lyrics. He then goes from Cincinatti-Louisville-Memphis.

I just wrote "Blues" and a random word (flood) in Youtube and I finally found that master piece of Delta Blues. What a "lucky" boy! :) Thanks for upload! :)

At 25 sec... there's a portrait of Big Bill with a guitar---posing as a lefthanded player --- I guess just to show off the guitar shape ---he plays righthanded everywhere else it appears.
