Saw BAD (actually Big Audio, for the Higher Power record) in New Haven at the Tuxedo Junction. T'was for my thirteenth b-day party,after my sister's boyfriend won tickets from a radio show in 1994. Had been a fan since I heard London Calling when I was 6 and Megatop Phoenix (one of the most under-rated albums) when I was 8 in '89' and started accumulating all their back records from presents and whatnot. After the show, a group of Fairfield punks (I know, an oxymoron) showed us the way to BAD's tour bus in the back of the venue. We waited for the band to come out and they initially rushed past us, saying they needed to clean up but that they'd come back out. We waited in the rain for about twenty minutes until Mick himself stepped out of the bus. He sat and shot the shit with us for a good half an hour about filming "Rude Boy," (after I did my "get off the fucking stage!" impersonation of him) his Clash days, and how he, Don Letts, and even, perhaps, Joe Strummer would eventually work together again. He was surprisingly friendly after hearing of his reputation back in the day for being a bit of an Elizabeth Taylor. He chatted in the rain with a group of fawning former Clash/BAD fans asking all sorts of obnoxious questions and had a smile the whole time. He signed a picture I had of him (still on my wall) and went on his way to eventually make F-Punk. Quite possibly my greatest childhood memory... Meeting Mick!

@PAZPERDEE I saw them just before christmas 1989 at a place called the Subterranian in west London. Its was one of the greatest nights out .The gig end at like 2.30am there were no trains running or buses we got well stuck and had to walk miles to get home. Singing all the way home!

Anyone see BAD II at Alexandra Palace for the Town and Country clubs celebrations, about 1990. Good gig, supporting was Dee-Lite, The Farm, The Jungle Brothers. Awesome gig, me and the lads had a great time.

Way back when I was in eighth grade I had a tape with B.A.D.'s self-titled album on one side and Fishbone's first album on the other. What a great tape and a great song.
