Kind of crazy that this introduces a character from the Parallax story...

Mordecai hooked me, 3:21 - 3:47 in this song kept me for good.

the ending was an earthquake-inducing breakdown, also a very technical and good one. \m/

Throw in White Walls, however, and I'll agree with you 100%. Haha. The ending to that song is the greatest ending of anything ever imo. It feels like the climax to an action movie or something. That and 11/4 breakdown intros are cool.

Colors is the best btbam album but all of their albums have been fantastic, full of stand-out moments and incredible style. You get so much variety listening to their discography

I liked this gritty dark, disturbing, sexual yet poetic days of BTBAM. Which is basically Self Titled and TSC, I loved those days. I wish the new album can visit that stuff, cos those moods are buried throughout their master opus's. Help me get over depression, love and hate. Colors is more of an artistic form. Alaska is a transitional stage I would say, nevertheless it's as great. Selkies and Backwards marathon being major highlights. Titties. BTBAM RULES. PAUL SWEEPS BITCHES!!!

Just joining in the argument here; but I think Colors itself was a much more consistent album than their earlier work. Although song structure was still fairly free form, they made sure to recurr melodic patterns whilst still making the music batshit insane technical. Selkies and Mordecai are probably my two favourite songs pre-Colors, but not much else stands out a load. I also think the first half of Mordecai is a little bit too repetetive and I think the first half of Selkies is pretty meh.

I love the guitar tune and drum mixing in both TSC and Colors... but the EP just doesn't mesh.
