they are a band and need to be all they can be as a band. So if they move musically from metal/thrash to metal/thrash/jazz and so on, why can't they progress to a wider audience through sony? You want them to succeed? Or you want them to die off? This is what they have been working for!

In addition, the band recently just had an entire freakin' tour of lesser known bands and a super small lineup. Why? Because they wanted to give the fans a show of fantastic bands rather than a huge lineup with good bands here and there.

Do you have a job that is not corporate? And would you deny yourself more money, despite being able to stay true to who you are as a person and still obtain your goals, just so you can say, "Hey, I'm not making good money because I don't sell out?" That's really absurd logic. They're still pushing the envelope hard in the prog. metal scene and they definitely have not sold out.
