that's hardly true, and sorry for responding to an old comment, but pop-punk can be brought back all the way to the release of Dookie in '94. If we wanna say that blink was the first popular pop-punk band, their popularity lasted from 1999 to 2004. And during those years pop-punk was all over the radio. I should also point out that Sum 41's AKNF came out in 2001 and was all over the radio then too.

no he's saying that it was around 2002-2003 that it died down bands like Blink 182 are still popular because of there name and Simple Plan had to change their style to keep up with the times
