ONLY 11 DAYS after 911 ( September 11th 2001 ) Bette Midler went to this memorial service for the victims of the terrorist disaster in NYC when the World Trade Center Towers were destroyed by Islamic Terrorist's highjacked aircraft. Barbara Streisand and others were invited to come and sing and they all refused because of fear that more terrorist attacks might occur. One lady would not refuse, it was America's Bette Midler ! We love you Bette.

I remember watching this concert with my sister and brother-in-law who live in Ohio weeks after 9-11. We were sitting in their family room passing around a box of kleenex. By the time she was finished, I think the kleenex box was empty.

At a high school graduation many years ago, this song served as the musical accompaniment to a slide show dedicated to the memory of our Principal, Jerome Levy, who had passed during the school year. The song was truly all him, as he never thought of himself when he did anything. It was either for his kids or his teachers. He's gone over 17 years, and he is still missed greatly by all those who loved him.
