The song was ranked at No.12 on Billboard's list of the top100 songs during the first 50 years of the Billboard Hot 100 chart and at No. 2 on the biggest hits of the 80s.

In 1982, it received 2 Grammy Awards for Best Song Of The Year & Best Record Of The Year.
