Every one of the songs on both of Bertolf's albums is a good one. "Not Bringing Me Down" is great. As I hear it, there's a tension between the words and music. The character in the song seems to be trying to convince himself that he's not heartbroken. The music actually tells quite a different story. That sorta 'heavy-metal' interlude at 2:34 is symbolic of the struggle to keep his emotions together and not lose control. Excellent songwriting!
