Wanted to see more of the drummer as his artful skill added much mystery to the music being played. A handsome young man indeed.

Wow, never heard this one! The GREAT "Fips" as he was lovingly called by his friends. I have been a BIG fan of the Bert Kaempfert since about 1965 when I was 15. Wish I could have this on DVD...

¡Felices tiempos aquellos!

Waldemar, the trombonist furthest away is still alive. Was at a golden wedding with him a few weeks ago. I think he is 89 years old.

All these trombone, flute, violin, trumpet players still around or not. I know jiggs, tony fisher, and bob lanese are. The red head trombone player died a few years ago i seen it in the paper. Ack Von Rooyen is 83 cant believe he is that old.

Addition to russallert's comment: the flutist on the left seems to be Ferdinand Powell; right to Herb Geller you see Emil Wurster (a Kaempfert associate from the very beginning) and James Towsey. The trombone player sitting between Jiggs Whigham and Waldemar Erbe is Otto Bredl, one of the leading German trombonists of his time. And the elder grey-haired violinist in the very first shot of the string section is Erich Kunisch, Kaempfert's long-time concert master.

Tony Fisher (trumpet, 2nd frm left) is the guy who created "The Bert Kaempfert Orchestra" to keep Bert's music alive, in cooperation with Bert's daughter Marion. As far as I know they released one CD so far ("Music of a Legend") but they've performed with the orchestra at several locations in the UK and in some other European countries.
