I've had this record for decades and never knew that was Ella Fitzgerald. I can hear it now. By far one of my most favorite records. I bet I've put a million miles on it and danced a few thousand miles to it in my younger days.

This song is not "by" Benny Goodman but rather Al Sherman, Charlie Newman and Murray Mencher.

That's right, 'scotnick'. Ella sat in with Benny for three sides on November 5, 1936- this was one of them. But even though she received no vocal credit on the original label, she forgot to tell Benny she was already under contract to Decca (with Chick Webb's band), and Victor demanded this be withdrawn from release [with "Goodnight My Love" and "Did Ya' Mean It?"]. It wasn't reissued until the early '60s...
