The BG orchestra of 1943 did the performance that was full of vigor for some periods.

FYI, I don't hear bass sax in this recording. And since my dad left the band earlier in the month for a stint with Horace Heidt, you can strike Joe Rushton from this lineup unfortunately.

Great post. It seems to be a bit more snappy than the 78 from 1937.

@ElmerThudd Love the analogy!! Perfect description, and I'm sure it would have put a smile on Benny's face. One of BG's finest bands, to be sure.

The Victory Parade of Spotlight Bands recording of this same band from Sept 23/1943,6 days before this recording is one of my favourite recordings ever.'After You've Gone' with a great Bill Harris solo. The quintet playing 'Three Little Words' with Gene's solo is out of this world, but,' I've Found A New Baby' by the full band is, I have always maintained,as good as it gets.Benny and the band are on fire!I Search it out.Its unbelievable!!!!!

This was recorded during one of Benny's Coca-Cola "SPOTLIGHT BANDS" appearances [originating from the Springfield Armory in Springfield, Mass.] over Mutual on September 29, 1943, later rebroadcast over Armed Forces Radio.
