Man, everyone here either stereotypically assumes all Americans are modern bass junkies and have no sense of origin, or is an American person proving a point to how he likes the oldies. Honestly, this is completely my opinion, so I don't need a whole discussion about how it's wrong. And this might take a while but basically I used to be a heavy metal kind of guy and Skrillex and Glebstar are the 2 main producers that introduced me to dubstep, or brostep, or whatever you want to call it, and since then, (2011 ish) I've expanded so much on my love for dubstep and it's community of fans and producers. But I was so fascinated and obsessed by the genre that I decided to study it and research its origins, and I discovered Coki, Benga, Skream, and all the rest of them, and I think it's really cool. And it's really cool to see where it all came from and who started it and what it sounded like. But it progressed. It got better, like almost everything els old that gets replaced with something new. I find its way more of an opinion thing that a fact, because tons of people like oldies better than newbies, myself included, but in my opinion, yes this stuff is really cool, but synths, instruments, and DAW's advanced so much more so that the possibilities expanded for producers. If they had the chance to make stuff that sounded like Skrillex, in my opinion, they probably would. So just everyone stop being so closed minded and look at this from everyones point of view, and don't be anti cliche. That's worse than being a pop lover, is someone who will not listen to or produce or like anything close to pop. Like what you like and what sounds good to you, not what other people like or don't like. Alright I'm done have a great night and Happy Valentines Day!
