Everybody's talking about how they're here because of The Walking Dead, and I'm just like, I'm here because of Ben Howard.

A truly haunting sound, especially in the into. The intro reminds me of Pink Floyd's "Welcome to the Machine". This song is a new favorite for me.

This song is about dying. And part of it is personal to Ben Howard, so we don't know those details unless you're his friend. But "go your way, I'll take the long way round, I'll find my own way down, as I should" is about trying to have some control over the way that you die. The part about "a joke in the way that we rust and breathe again" is about how oxygen eventually kills people because it interacts with other elements and creates free radicals (like oxidation or rust) but we breath again because we have no choice. Oxygen keeps us alive and then kills us and it's a cosmic joke.

To me the song sounds like a blessing or a benediction. a hopeful prayer for plenty. finding strength in oneself and overcoming obstacles. Finding beauty in lifes inevitable inperfections
