All those comparing this to Furys Version.. Lets not forget Fury Released his in 1961!!! This is obviously recorded possibly 25 or even 30 yeras or more later!!!!!!!! Furys was a power ballad where as this is simple gentle soul. Furys version by a counrty mile!!!!!!! Anyone with half a voice could have recorded this as well as Mr King. Stand By Me.. Now thats a different story!!! But This is a huge No No! Not Halfway To Paradise.. He absolutly "Murdered" the song!!!

I've heard many people covering this - no one, absolutely no one, can touch Ben E King's rendition. The phrasing is impeccable, the timing simply superb! Billy Fury? He doesn't even make the bus if you're comparing him to this (and I bought Fury's version when it first came out in the sixties).
