Beloved's second album Failure On

4th song in that album.

Lyrics -

A line drawn in the sand

And we both know

Im not about to bury myself

Sinking in my footsteps

But not coming up for air

A firm foundation of beating hearts

Is blistering enough on the surface

Closing in and holding out my breath

Hoping to mend the wounds

Opened by years of digging out

We fight fire with fire

And youll run back to your

Circles of friends

They wont help you now

We drew a line in the sand

And this time its now or never

Go ahead and burn your bridges

But only if you can swim

Deep in the sea of disbelief

This time your screams wont be heard

You will fight this battle

But well take you out so quickly

That you and your so-called army

Couldnt see us coming

Fight this battle

Well tear you down to the ground

We cant stop now

We were born for battle

Without vision we will die

We were born for battle

Against the tide of compromise

There is life in this

The places so close can take you so far

We wont trust our eyes to keep us there

Such a great band. I saw them in K-Vegas around 2000 as a high schooler, through Friskiez, and Brew Ha Ha's and I think even the Mileston, to Ziggy's and the new Uprisings (remember one night with ravers hanging out at the hole/load in spot there and watching the band play, some guy in butterfly wings really rocking out as they waited for the upstairs, or next door or whatever to open up for the drug party) and all the way to the Millennium Center where I half-heartedly watched as around 200 screaming 15 year olds kept asking if Underoath was there. Then again, at the door I saw people driving from as far as Ontario and KC to the Camel City to see this band play one last time. Everything was beautiful that night in the end. I also had some stupid vendetta against Underoath at that time for no reason and gave them directions to the ghetto when they asked where to find a vegetarian restaurant (this was right at the start of the Avenue of the Arts stuff winston has going on now.) That's besides the point, but if anyone from that band ever happens across, I was the dick in the GG Allin hoodie with the shaved head. I'm sorry.Beloved was the most amazing and emotionally charged band I've had the privilege of seeing so far in this lifetime.
