I just did a little cover of a song from one of my all-time favourite bands.

I tried my best, but it's still a bit sloppy...

Check it out and tell me what you think! :)

Gear:

I use Dixon MBS shells

Roland SPDS for triggering (bass drums)

Axis Pedals

Murat Diril Cymbals

Copyright notice:

This is a Drum Cover of 'Shemhamforash' from Behemoth's 2009 release Evangelion and is the copyrighted property of its owner(s).

Never liked this type of music, and still don't (the Cookie Monster voice, ugh!). But watching David perform the drums only makes me want to learn it so bad! I'd PAY to watch David (but not Behemoth...). Will you be doing a solo drummer tour anytime soon?

Holy shit! This is sloppy?? Throw in the master Kollias himself and even he wouldn't do it better. An the thing we have to remember here is you play this live/one take and Behemoths drummer quite possibly had a happy of few rounds in this making the record. So, you sir are amazing.

I need help getting faster with my foot pedaling.. Whether its heel toe, or swivel or just straight heel up. Any tips?

I see George Kollias' style of swivel footing :)

it is a bit sloppy but 1) find someone who can play this perfect and i'll show you a purple unicorn 2) kudos to him for being humble enough to admit that, but also 3) it's not a knock to him at all. To even play this imperfectly is a feat. Great drumming man! You push me to keep kicking asssss

More energy was expended in this 3:57 clip than the sun has put out in the past 3 million years.Awesome job.

Kollias is a beast, no doubt. But I personally prefer Diepold whose technique is to me even more solid. His feet play symetric and in the pedal axis, thus with less energy waste and more control. Also I prefer Diepold's more classy, aristrocratic style. One could think he is a trader at Wall Street! (maybe he is :-))). Much respect anyways. Like Chuck Schuldiner would say: "Let the metal flow"!!

Great job mister!!! Typical muso, always questioning your action, and it's never good enough for yourself. Hahaha. i could never master the swivel technique and could not reach this speeds, was using an old Iron Cobra pedal and could never get the action right. I'm on bass and vocals now, thank god, cause this clip of you here would've made me so jealous! lol.

Good cover, obviously multiple video takes put together. He can play fast but I doubt he could play this perfect with one play through.
