I may be mistaken, but i believe they are named after Tobias "crazy" Beecher, a character from the HBO prison drama OZ. After years of being raped by a white supremacist gang, Beecher smashes their leader in the face with a dumbell and then proceeds to shit in his mouth. In an unrelated incident he also bites a new inmate's dick off.
