Erk! I swear I've heard this kind of hypnotic style of music from some other artist but I can't put my damn tongue on it...

Is it just me,or is that Paul Mccartney with another member of the Beatles in the top left picture on this cover?! o_OI'm pretty sure its him, since i see that guy holding a hofner violin bass. Brilliant song by the way, Its a shame CD owner's cant buy it as a single on a CD...along those other two singles. Since all three of them are awesome. While "Defriended" is my favourite one ♥

This is why Beck never faded into obscurity, he always puts out an instant classic like this just when you forgot about him.

Let's be honest: Beck's run of inconsistency these last 12 years has made it a bit too easy to forget how accomplished and virtuosic Beck is in terms of artistry and musicianship. The impressive thing about "I Won't Be Long" though, a single Beck independently released last summer, is that it towers over his last three or four albums not necessarily because they were bad (they were mostly just underwhelming), but because it manages to stand on its own as one of the best songs he's ever produced. The song is consummate Beck as he matchlessly re-indulges in his genre-spanning sensibilities: listeners are awash with elements of spacey psychedelic pop, shoegaze, and dusty SoCal surfer rock, without knowing what hit them. The manner in which he produces the track lends it an especially vital quality; despite how fastidiously arranged it is, the song could not feel more organic in how it fluidly in flows from one section of the song to another.Additionally, his lush work on the guitars and a reverb-soaked mandolin greatly expand the scope of the song into Wall of Sound territory. The only thing preventing it from releasing into the atmospheric void is the earthly tether of a groovy, playful bassline, the only dependable constant that shapes the song into a bliss wave powerful enough to help you forget that his last few albums even exist. So far, it's made for some pretty euphoric night-driving this season.

This song sounds like it has existed forever, one of my fave qualities in a song.
