Actually, the movie was called "A Life Less Ordinary," which was only so-so in my opinion if I remember correctly, and the Beck song on the soundtrack was "Deadweight," which I think is a pretty decent tune.

Beck had many great eras but the Midnite Vultures era always stood out to me as my favourtie for some reason. Just wish I discovered him when I was younger!

I can't believe the ignorance of some of you, bashing Beck for taking liberties with an old song. This is his own song, and it has nothing to do with marching tunes or Mississippi John Hurt. Don't you know that radically different songs can share a title??? As for my take on this song - it is one of my favourite of Beck's lamentably unreleased songs. Beautiful and nuanced.

I've never heard a version of creole belle like this before. It is so far off base they should have just gave it a new name. I think i agree with the dude below me. 'creole belle' is an old string band marching tune. this has taken to many liberties. Beck has some good tunes, but this isn't one of them
