I reposted because I wasn't happy with the rhythm guitar. I eliminated a couple of verses and one bridge. The J-160E was recorded acoustically with a Tascam DR07 portable recorder and the Rickenbacker 360-12 was recorded through a Vox AD15VT set on AC30TB - no effects. No tabs.

My videos are really intended for accomplished guitarists who want to polish up their Beatles repertoire and can benefit from "seeing" how a song is played. If the various chords that I am playing are not familiar to you then I would suggest that you visit some of the many free guitar chord sites. I had to learn these songs by listening to vinyl records and watching live performances on tv.

Great timing of me discovering this just about two weeks after I saw the restored version of A Hard Day's Night almost 50 years to the day I first saw the fab movie in the theater. Thank you so much for doing these songs from the movie. There is much that can be learned from them that is not easily gleaned from just watching the movie.

One day I would love to hear some of your acoustic work (like this one) all by itself..I am dying to hear your strumming pattern more clearly. Of all the strumming patterns I've watched closely, yours seems to have a difference which I can't explain correctly.

Thanks for what you do. The Beatles got me and my older brother into playing guitar and we had every album and a sheet music book of their songs, on the back of the albums right next to the song lists were numbers, what page in the book that song was on; the grounding on guitar that gave us was a doorway into what is a lifelong thing and your efforts are icing on the cake ! Thanks again :)

Beatles Guitar Secrets

You can hear this on the studio version especially when the open E is strummed. It starts as the open G6 [6th string 3rd fret, 5th string 2nd fret, all other strings open] then you pluck 6th string 3rd fret, 6th string 2nd fret and then you change to and open E min chord and start by plucking the open E then the rest of the chord. You can see Lennon do this in one of the live versions. I've not seen any of the tribute groups pick up on this detail.

Can't be absolutely sure, but it looks like he's playing XX5453 (Em/G6). That's just a different voicing of what he play's on the studio recording. The Beatles often played different chord voicings and riffs live and for lip sync performances.
