Does anyone remember Dan (Dick) playing with the Incredible Hayseeds in a bar in Lakeside for the price of a cover charge? Dan was truly entertaining. Still miss ya, Dan.

Weekly, Nov 17 1995 with a full page article entitled "Requiem for a Beat Farmer".....................................I also went onstage in a drunken stupor at the Palomino in Hollywood and danced with country dick but I don't remember the year.R.I.P. you crazy bastard!

I don't know how to tell you this, partner, but Country Dick died on November 8th, 1995, 3+ years before you were on stage with him.

During the live recorded show, on New Year's Eve, 1999, I had the honor of being on stage with Country Dick, and the band. It was "Happy Boy", and I was one of the kazoo players. One of the best New Year's Eves', ever. I was also at Joey's wedding during a San Diego Street Fair, I think Sept. of 2000. Great, great, fun band. Too bad Country Dick checked out so early. I guess it was the perfect time for him.

The owner of the Cabooze bar in Mpls. had just installed a brand new bar - he asked Dick to please, please don't do your bar dancing on his new bar - of course that was the first thing Dick did!!!!

My friend and I were tallking to Dick before a show in Chicago, we had seen the Beat Farmers many times before. My friend says to Dick "we've seen you everywhere" and Dick says "You ain't ever seen me in rehab". Damn those were good times, thanks for posting this.

I introduced my Dad to Country Dick at SlimsSF, while the first band was on stage. When The Beat Farmers were supposed to go on, Dick was still up in the balcony with my Dad still drinking beer. They were calling him over the mic to come down so they could start the show. Classic. He even commented the next time we saw them about my dad. "Where's your Dad?" he said. I said, "at home". He said "well as long as he drinking or fucking something, then that's alright.Tell him I said Hello!"

At a show in Tucson, I was standing in front of the stage, holding a pitcher of beer in each hand. (one was a friend's) guzzling from both when Country Dick finishes a song. Everyone's cheering, flipping him the bird, spraying beer, when he looks down at me, smiles, and says, "God Damn it, I like the way this man drinks." It was like having Renoir say he admired my brushstrokes. I hope to have it engraved on my tombstone.
