@69Semiazas69 unconditionally from a person it makes you think that maybe... there exists perfect love somewhere for all people and somehow, because I know I am incapable of giving such a love to any one, perhaps there is room to believe it is divine. It has been said that God is just what people call the unknown, and perhaps that is true... the unknown there would for sure be our own consciousness.12 years ago

I am entitled to that opinion just as I stated that the writers of this song are entitled to call me a fool for believing in something. I know perfectly well that I am going to die. and I know perfectly well that God may not exist and there in lies the beauty of faith. @teeshalove willing to accept these facts. which is perfectly fine. just don't go getting all pissy, or offended and try to preach to us when you have no proof that anything you say is true, and when we're perfectly capable of making our own decisions. i just want people like you to be more open minded, and understand what is fact, and what is not. i'm not saying it's not possible, i'm just saying that you can't deny facts, and no religion is factual. that's why they are called religions. they12 years ago

@teeshalove of them for eternity. it's also used as a crutch to feel ok, like i said previously for people that can't take the cold hard truth that one day, they'll be in the ground decomposing. just like everyone and everything else. i'm not saying you are wrong, you might be. but you have no proof for you beliefs, as i do have proof that you will die, and that people use religions as a crutch, and that many religions can be, and are used as a control mechanism. you most likely though, are not12 years ago

@teeshalove re read the last sentence of my comment again. and i can almost guarantee that you're defining "finding peace" as all the people who are terrified of dying using the BELIEF, not the fact, the BELIEF that they are going to "go to heaven" and pretty much keep living. the religion is a control mechanism over people that are scared or cant come to terms with the fact that they'll die eventually. be good, and you'll keep living and be fine, be bad, you keep living and get tortured. both12 years ago

@69Semiazas69 I am not offended for myself. I am offended at the way that they are portraying religion. They have insinuated that contemplating life and its meaning, which is really the basis to religion, is a waste of time. perhaps it does not seem to have much value but many people have found personal peace, and understanding in religion and it teachings about humans and their nature.12 years ago

@teeshalove he wasn't thinking about you when he wrote the song. the song has nothing to do with you, and he isn't insinuating anything about you. if you're offended, i don't understand how. the song is obviously about his struggle with his beliefs, or lack of. i thought you were supposed to reassure fellow christians that are struggling with their beliefs? anyway, that's fucking ridiculous for you to interpret part of a song by someone who has never met you as a personal attack on your beliefs.13 years ago

Thanks lol. I ended up putting "They looked like strong hands" on the sign instead. Anthony signed it for me after the concert. I also got on stage during the concert It was the best night of my life.14 years ago
