London quartet Bastille visited the NME offices to perform a special acoustic cover of 'What Would You Do?' The song was originally written by American hip hop trio City High, which appeared on their self-titled album in 2001.

The Bastille cover appears on their mixtape' Other Peoples Heartache' which was released in 2012.

It's not about liking this version or the other better. They are not trying to be better than the original. They are just trying (and doing a good job) to put their own style to the song.

it's nice I guess, but I don't live for it. I think the lead singer couldn't stand to open his mouth a little more & pronounce the words a little better because he's mumbling the entire time. city high gets my vote though.

I grew up with the City High version. I also grew up in a pretty bad neighborhood as well. So that one I relate to a lot more. This one is good but I guess it depends on the person.

I first listened to this song when I was a dumb teenager and didn't understand what was really being said. It's been forrrrreever since I last listened to it and now comparing it to THIS version of the song, I have to say lots of feels were had listening to Bastille's version because it's been awhile since I listened to the orignal. Regardless though, the song itself is pretty emotional no matter who sings it.
