This is no tribute or anything special. Never once throughout the years had Barbra ever mentioned Donna Summer. Donna has always mentioned Barbra though throughout the years, even joked about the recording sessions. It's a little too late BABS. I wouldn't pay a dime to see this woman for that reason.

Well, consindering that she is well past her prime and disco is far, FAR from her comfort genre, she did alright. She still sings ballads beutifully, it's just uptempo songs are harder for her now.

THIS WAS NO TRIBUTE IT WAS JUST HORRIBLE & SHOWS EVEN BARBARA HAS LOST HER LUSTER. UNLIKE DONNA SUMMER WHO WAS STILL IN PHENOMENAL FORM TILL THE END. I LOVE BARBARA BUT HALF ASS DOESN'T CUT IT.SADLY IT WAS TRULY A MISSED OPPORTUNITY THAT THEY NEVER DID THIS LIVE BACK IN 79/80 I KNOW THAT THEY BOTH KNEW THAT THE PUBLIC & THE INDUSTRY WOULD'VE ATE THAT UP & MADE THIS EVEN A BIGGER HIT. I WONDER WHY THIS NEVER HAPPENED & WHO WAS BEHIND IT, HOWEVER ON STAGE I BELIEVE THAT DONNA WOULD'VE A OUTSHINED HER ONSTAGE DONNA WAS A SHOWGIRL.SAD IT NEVER HAPPENED

+NicholasSims It is true that Donna had reach the pinnacle of her career and got married and focused on her life. But she had the disco sucks backlash to deal with, she had to sue her record company because she was not receiving songwriting royalties. She signed with Geffen, which proved to be commercial disaster. No it was not her choice, who she worked with. Geffen ended her association with Morderer/Belotte/Faltermeyer; after rushing the Wanderer to market, he cancelled their second project mid-prodcution and forced her to work with Quincy Jones. She Works Hard for Money was a successful album and song because it was Polygram who got the album (because of contracts), promoted it and hired a good director for the video. She became the first Afro- American female to be played in heavy rotation on the then fledgling MTV. Geffen passed on the album. The next album should have been a smash, but Geffen executives reject the request for lead single (Oh Billy Please), and did what they wanted. Also Geffen Records didn't promote established superstars; their focus was on the youth market. Donna also had to deal with the rumours that she was homophobic or anti-gay, and was pretty much black balled by the industry from 84 on. Geffen wasn't out of the closet yet, and really did not defend her. The next album was much the same; Faltermeyer was hired by Geffen, on the albums completion - his executives removed songs, inserted others, and songs the were specifically recorded with the intention of moving her into a more R & B oriented market - fell by the wayside. They trashed two great albums. Then released her, after the completion of the next album. Which of course produce her last top 10 single TTIKIFR. Showing that again Geffen and his executive team had no clue when it came to Donna. Now with Atlantic, and ready to release her next album in 1991, New York magazine printed an article about the alleged anti-gay remarks she had allegedly made in 1983, and she sued for 50 million. New York Mag settle out of court - but damage was done. That is what happen to Donna.

Barbra streisan nunca habia cantando este tema que hizo a duo con la reina del DISCO Donna summer, que lastima que lo cante ahora que la diva del disco ya no esta...Interesante interpretacion de las dos grandes del siglo pasado.

We all know Barbra doesn't have the quickness she once had for disco but I think it was a tribute to the Awesome Donna Summer.

Thank you! Babs said that she and Donna hung out months before Donna passed and she like many didn't know about her battle with cancer. They shared a bound outside of the studio and both loved recording the song which made them the first female duo to score a # 1 Pop hit. Like Donna, Babs should have been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame a long time ago.
