I love this version, it's a contemporary reading of the song and really sweet

@MrTheasby To say Dickson's voice is devoid of 'true emotion' is frankly nonsense.

Barbara Dickson murders this wonderfully plaintive song. Although her voice is lovely it is far too smooth and devoid of true emotion. You just cannot feel the pain. Listen to Andy Irvine and Donal Lunny instead and you will see what I mean.

@rightmoment - I would if I could but I can't so I won't - someone else has posted a Planxty audio in the meantime and it'll have to do - (I have since learned how to play and sing it though)

This song definitely needs a good whistler and good interaction between guitarists/mandolins. Or else an orchestral/string quartet arrangement!! The keyboards, bass and drums do nothin for it!! Why isn't the original on here?!

Kenrew, This song takes you there. Perfect for Barbara and a great addition to You Tube.
