@Blackfury1 just because you cant find it in a dictionary doesn't mean its not a word. Thats the awesome thing about English. If we couldn't draw upon logic to further develop the language, it wouldn't be worth the letters forming it. That said, I don't think it is Votary, and that the actual meaning is what you originally thought is was, not something to later cover up something creative they made back when they were actually punk enough to make their own REAL words. Yeah you are right, the word vetrope doesn't exist. Sorry English isn't my mother tongue so it's hard to tell for me. According to the forum of "The Bad Religion Page" the word is vegetable, Jay Bentley told them they say. Doesn't make much sense, does it?14 years ago

Even though I think Greg's a smart guy, I think he means votary in this song. He says, "I ain't no blind supporter" and that is the direct antithesis of what a votary is. As a matter of fact, I don't think the word vetrope exists. In any case, this tune is still amazing, and is probably the longest fast song I've heard from them thus far.Related Videos
