(From Epitaph) - Co-written by founding members Brett Gurewitz and Greg Graffin, "Honest Goodbye" is inspired by the life and crimes of Perry Smith, the murderer made famous by Truman Capote's classic novel "In Cold Blood." "The song questions how a man with seemingly gentle and artistic sensibilities comes to commit brutally heinous crimes," explains Gurewitz. "It's an emotional song to me that delves into the humanity of forgiveness and retribution."

Can anyone Accurately tell me the meaning? I think I have a good grasp but I want to hear other's input?

...though I would be remiss if I didn't mention that this song was actually written by Mr. Brett.

Thanks, I agree that it's not their best song but I still think it's great.

This is cool and all, but not a favorite of mine. Greg Graffin and the band make everything better though. It's like a weaker BR song compared to other popular music is incredible. So yeah I like this song enough, cool video :)
