-- Lyrics --

Wasted days and cigarettes

Cracked cement and palms

Bodhidharma has gone fission

With your vedic mom

Yeah the Sergeant Major is dreamin' of genie

And she's armed with a borrowed polka dot bikini

Oh yeah tomorrow's coming down like dharma and the bomb

Falling down

Falling down

like dharma and the bomb

Falling down

Falling down

Like dharma and the bomb

The shallows seem evangelical

When you're slammed up against a wall

And your stoked to watch all creation go over the falls

Yeah Kali is coming and you'd better believe it

That girl's got the atom and the bhagavad ghita

Oh yeah samsara's coming down like dharma and the bomb

Falling down

Falling down like

Like dharma and the bomb

Falling down

Falling down like

Like dharma and the bomb

I actually liked Process of Belief. I also like The Dissent of Man, and True North. Oh, and Against The Grain. But one thing has not changed in 30+ years of BR, they STILL kick ass. I'm going to be really damn sad if they ever break up!

I loved it when it came out, but I can't even listen to the whole thing anymore.

No Substance and New America are two of BR's best albums in my opinion! They do not deign toward overfamiliar song structures & lyrics that pervade the more recent - or, dare I say it, earlier - albums. I've been a BR fan for many, many years now and the "familiarity breeds contempt" aphorism holds true in their context. Graffin's angle on the music added necessary new life to the band; if anything it's slightly sad that the band has returned to its punk rock roots.

Why does Brett only sing on one song on this album? It's like on Depeche Mode's new album, Martin Gore only sings on one song ("The Child Inside") and Dave Gahan sings all the others. Yes, I'm comparing Bad Religion to Depeche Mode, because A). They've both been around for over 30 years, B). They've both been masters of their respective genres (punk and electronic), C). They've both influenced a TON of other bands, and D). They both kick ass!!! :D

I don't know why everyone slams The New America. I think it's a great album, especially the title track. One of their most melodic and anthemic songs ever.

Song is called "Dharma and the Bomb", lead singer's name is Greg. Dharma and Greg??? :D

The Process of Belief was such a transformation from The New America. It was as though Bad Religion had been gradually losing energy, then suddenly they ignited again. I don't know exactly what caused it, but it can't be pure coincidence that it happened when Brett returned. I think the Brett/Greg team is the cornerstone of BR.

Couldn't say it better, exactly the way i feel about BR....

Honestly, I consider The New America to be at least slightly better than the completely forgettable No Substance. Having said that, The New America was the album that made me give up on BR until 2004 or so, when I finally gave The Process of Belief and The Empire Strikes First a fair shake, and boy, was I glad I did.

Life lacked direction before Bad Religion. Now I have No Direction, and I couldn't be happier.
